Dan and Hutely, once again, team up with mythological and prominent historical figures to stop evil forces from threatening the evolution of democracy on the European and North American continents. But first, they must rescue senior Historical Guide Academy leaders from total annihilation at the hands of evil Nazis. These fascist fugitives fled defeat at the hands of the righteous allies in World War II. As experts in disguise and time travel, they infiltrate certain epics of history to search out and kill promoters of individual free will, natural rights, and equality for all. Hildegard of Bingen, a divine abbes, polymath, and visionary hears the cries and feels the tears of a martyr and her fellow nuns through the ages as the Huns slaughter them. An alarm goes off and awakens a sleeping giant's call to action.

Saint Ursula, Robin Hood and his Merry Men, King Arthur and his court at Camelot, Scientists, and Enlightenment Thinkers join Hutely and Dan to foil Von Klerks dastardly plans. Hutely, who is widely known as a "Jack of all clades," has the support of Articlus, a woodpecker sculptor from ancient Greece, griffins from Hyperborea, and other members of the animal kingdom in this valiant effort. Through tears, laughter, tragedy, and triumph they exemplify the essential association of love and friendship.

This epic adventure starts when Dan McCaugh, a student at Fort Lewis College, is assigned by his history professor, Dr. Dean, an extensive review of European history. Exhausted after many nights at the library, Dan has a dream that takes him to the beginning of Stonehenge, the adoption of Magna Carta, the creation of the Gutenberg Printing Press, and rescue missions involving giants of The Enlightenment. This must-read adventure chronicles events that influenced the writing of the Declaration of Independence, which is now celebrating its 250th birthday, and the United States Constitution.
